Updating your passport details

If you obtain a new passport and are holding a valid visa (including eVisas), you need to notify The Department of Immigration and Border Protection and ask for an information update.
To notify the change, you can

1. If you applied online, go through your ImmiAccount to update your details;

2. Make a request through an Australian Visa Application Centre (AVAC), operated by VFS Global:

Bangkok

The Trendy Office Building 28th Floor,
Sukhumvit Soi 13, Klongtoey-Nua, Wattana,
Bangkok 10110
(BTS NANA, exit number 3)

Chiang Mai

Siriphanich, 191 Huaykaew Road,
Suthep, Muang, Chiang Mai

(opposite MAYA Lifestyle Shopping Centre)

Further information on the Australian Visa Application Centre is available at www.vfsglobal.com/Australia/Thailand and www.vfsglobal.com/Australia/Laos

3. To make a request through an email, you need to scan a copy of the page with your personal details from both your old and new passports and complete form 929. Then attach all the documents, provide your preferred contact details, and email to immigration.bangkok@dfat.gov.au  with the subject line 'Request to update passport details'.

Please note: attachments cannot be larger than 5MB otherwise the email system may not accept the email.
