Press Release 2013 - Thai receive Endeavour

Seventeen Thai Scholars Receive Prestigious Australian Government’s Endeavour Scholarships and Fellowships for 2014

17 December 2013

Each year, the Australian Government offers Endeavour Scholarships and Fellowships to high-achieving students, researchers and professionals from around the world to study in Australia’s world class education institutions or undertake professional development programs. The scholarships are globally competitive and merit-based.

This year, 17 Thais were awarded with a prestigious Endeavour Scholarship or Fellowship. Five of these scholars will have the opportunity to undertake their full post graduate degree in Australia, whilst the remaining recipients will undertake shorter fellowships or research placements.

The Endeavour Scholarships and Fellowships facilitate the sharing of knowledge, strengthen mutual understanding between Thai and Australian scholars and build international networks, which continue long after the scholars have returned to Thailand. They reinforce the strong and enduring ties between Australia and Thailand.

The awardees will undertake their study or research at postgraduate and postdoctoral level, or professional development programs across a large number of fields including Physics, Education, Architecture, Medicine and Health, Mathematics and Law.

Further, four Australians have been awarded Endeavour scholarships to undertake their study at Thai universities. Of these four scholars, three have been awarded prestigious Prime Minister’s prizes.

Applications for the 2015 round of Endeavour Scholarships and Fellowships will open in early April 2014 and close on 30 June 2014.
