Vacancy - Senior Regional Portfolio Manager

 

                                                Senior Regional Portfolio Manager/s

The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) is inviting applications from suitably qualified persons for two full-time Senior Regional Portfolio Manager positions. The roles are located within the ASEAN Mission Bangkok. Please refer to the attached Position Description for more details of the position.

Selection Criteria

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Applicants must provide a written Statement of Claims of no more than three pages to show their suitability under each of the following Selection Criteria. The Statement of Claims forms the most important part of the application, as this information, together with a CV of no more than two pages, will be used to shortlist applicants for further consideration for the vacancy.  There is no need for a covering letter.

In addressing each criteria please ensure that you provide example(s) based on previous experience where available, to demonstrate your capability.

 

  1. Proven experience in all aspects of program management, including portfolio coordination, team building, and staff supervision
  2. Substantial knowledge and understanding of Australian aid policy and development related context in South East Asia
  3. Capacity to think strategically and exercise judgement for making sound decisions on complex and sensitive tasks/assignments
  4. Excellent networking and partnership building skills
  5. High level communication in English with ability to convey information to a variety of audiences in a cross-cultural context, including excellent English writing skills

99,050 – 159,386 Baht per month

Employment will be subject to a satisfactory medical and police/security checks. The actual start date will be confirmed after advice has been received in regards to the outcome of the police checks which will be carried out in Thailand, Australia, any country where the successful candidate is a citizen, and any country where the successful candidate has resided for 6 months or more in the past 5 years. Please note that costs for police check in any country other than Thailand will be met by the successful candidate.

For expatriate prospective employees, please note that all costs associated with the employee’s relocation to and stay in Thailand, including visa fees, are the employee’s responsibility. The Embassy can provide limited assistance to the employee requesting a Thai visa and permit to stay.  It is the employees’ responsibility to obtain the relevant documents and ensure that they are in compliance with immigration regulations that relate to their employment with the Embassy in Thailand. The Embassy is unable to assist with Thai Visa matters in relation to the spouse or partner or family members of an employee. Prospective applicants are advised to check their eligibility for a visa - and investigate living conditions and costs.

In considering this position, Australian applicants should make themselves aware of the Australian taxation arrangements for Australian citizens working overseas.
