Embassy staff conducted an outreach visit to Chiang Mai for Notarial and passport services on Thursday, 21 November 2019. We anticipate our next outreach will occur in May/June 2020. The date and location will be confirmed closer to the time. Please monitor this website for updates.
All fees must be paid by debit or credit card only. Please note that cash will not be accepted.
Please refer to our website for advice on what notarial services we can and cannot provide. Statutory declarations can only be witnessed if they are for use in Australia only.
Please note that while Embassy staff can accept applications for a Certificate of No Impediment and take the fee, we cannot issue the Certificate of No Impediment at the outreach. Applications will be processed upon our return to Bangkok and posted to you soon after. For further information on the requirements for a Certificate of No Impediment, please refer to the Getting Married in Thailand page on this website.
Embassy staff will not have facilities to take photocopies of any documents so please bring copies with you if that’s required for your passport or notarial service.
Australian passport applications can also be lodged with the Honorary Consul, Chiang Mai - by appointment only. Please contact the Australian Consulate Chiang Mai (Monday to Thursday 9 am to 12 noon) on 091 857 6996 or by email – firstname.lastname@example.org - to book an appointment.
For information on the requirements to lodge a passport application, please refer to Australian Passports section on the Embassy’s webpage. It is important to note that you need to allow a minimum of four weeks for the passport to be processed and returned to you.
The Australian Embassy in Bangkok remains available for the lodgement of passport applications and notarial services. An appointment is required at the Embassy for these services. Please refer to the Appointment Booking page on our website for further information.
