Press Release 2013 - DAP application

Australian Embassy Direct Aid Program invites applications

The Australian Embassy invites applications for projects to be supported under its Direct Aid Program (DAP).

DAP is a flexible, small grants program funded by the Australian Government through AusAID and managed by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

The program focuses on supporting small-scale projects that clearly address the humanitarian or development needs of a disadvantaged group of people, and involve the beneficiaries in the identification, design and management of the projects.

Funding is available on a not-for-profit basis to individuals, organisations and community groups engaged in development activities in Thailand on a not-for-profit basis. Applications cannot be accepted from commercial operations.

This year, priority will be given to projects in the following areas:
a. improving public health;
b. supporting education;
c. promoting gender equality and women’s empowerment;
d. eradicating poverty; AND
e. responding to humanitarian disasters.

Applications for projects in other areas are still eligible to apply, but will be given a lower priority when deciding which applications should be funded.

There is no minimum or maximum amount that a single DAP project can receive, although funding for most projects will fall between 100,000 THB and 700,000 THB range. Projects must be completed and acquitted fully before end of May 2014.

Applications must comply with the ‘Applicant Guidelines 2013-14 for the Direct Aid Program’ and must be made using the ‘Project Proposal Form 2013-14’. Applications close on 30 September 2013.
