1 February 2025
Applications are now open for the Australia Awards Scholarships, which provide fully-funded opportunities for Thai professionals to undertake postgraduate (Master’s level) study in Australia.
Australia Awards Scholarships are prestigious international awards offered by the Australian Government to the next generation of local, national and global leaders. Through study and research, recipients develop the skills and knowledge to drive change and help build enduring people-to-people links with Australia.
Areas of eligible study include water security; climate action; transnational crime; economic resilience and subregional integration; and gender equality, disability and social inclusion (GEDSI). Awardees will also gain exclusive access to an on-award enrichment program through the Mekong-Leaders Network.
The scholarships are funded through the Australian Government’s Mekong-Australia Partnership. The Mekong-Australia Partnership aims to support a resilient and inclusive Mekong subregion that pursues joint solutions to shared and transboundary challenges.
Australian Ambassador to Thailand Dr Angela Macdonald PSM welcomed the new scholarships.
“We are offering 10 places for Thais to study in Australia,” she said.
“The Australia Awards Mekong-Australia Partnership Scholarships promotes knowledge sharing, strengthens mutual understanding between Thai and Australian scholars and builds international leadership networks, which continue long after the scholars have returned to Thailand.”
Applications for the Australia Awards Scholarships will be open till the 30 April 2025 for study in Australia commencing in 2026.
