The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) is inviting applications for an Assistant Property Manager which is a full-time position, classified at Level 4 (LE4). The closing date for applications is Thursday, 15 January 2026, 4.30pm (Bangkok time).  A merit list will be drawn upon to fill expected future vacancies.

Selection Criteria

  1. Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in property and procurement processes, or an ability to quickly acquire these skills and this knowledge.
  2. A high level of administrative ability, including good organisation, prioritisation and problem solving skills. The ability to maintain accurate records, process documentation efficiently and work with minimum supervision.
  3. The ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel and competency in the use of personal computers, emails and the internet. An ability to use the SAP accounting system would be an advantage.
  4. Good oral and written communication skills in English and Thai. Open-minded, good interpersonal, liaison and negotiation skills and the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external clients and contacts. A demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team, fostering a positive work environment and culture.
  5. A high degree of personal and professional integrity.

Employment will be subject to satisfactory medical and police/security checks. The actual start date will be confirmed following the outcome of the police checks, which will be carried out in Thailand, Australia, any country where the successful candidate is a citizen, and any country where the successful candidate has resided for six months or more in the past five years. Please note that costs for a police check in any country other than Thailand must be met by the successful candidate.

For prospective expatriate candidates, please note that all costs associated with the candidates’ relocation and permission to stay in Thailand is the candidates’ responsibility. This includes visa fees and costs to travel to Thailand. The candidates will also be responsible for organising their own residential accommodation during their period of stay.

The Embassy can provide limited assistance to the successful candidate and immediate family members (spouse and children) requesting Thai visa(s) and permit to stay.    

It is the successful candidates’ responsibility to obtain the relevant documents and ensure that they comply with immigration regulations that relate to their employment with the Embassy in Thailand. Prospective applicants are advised to check their eligibility for a visa - and investigate living conditions and costs. In considering this position, Australian applicants should make themselves aware of the Australian taxation arrangements for Australian citizens working overseas.
