Australia’s The Ten Tenors to mesmerise Bangkok with their first ever concert in Thailand
12 September 2013
Some people think classical music and rock are at opposite ends of the spectrum. Bangkok will not have to wait to prove this wrong as the famous Australian vocal ensemble ‘The Ten Tenors’ is coming to perform their first ever concert in town on Sunday 22 September 2013, 7.30 pm, at Thailand Cultural Centre. The event is supported by the Australian Embassy, Bangkok.
The Ten Tenors is one of the greatest touring acts in the world, mixing everything from Queen to Meatloaf to opera. Performing an average of 250 shows per year across multiple continents, they have sold over four million concert tickets, and racked up four gold and two platinum CDs.
Originally a group of university friends who banded together while studying at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music, The Ten Tenors has powered through 14 years on the international stage, gaining thousands of fans while moving into the future of the classical cross-over genre.
The Australian Ambassador to Thailand Mr James Wise said “it is a pleasure for us to support this concert and to share with our Thai friends world-famous musical talents from Australia. I hope Thai audiences will find The Ten Tenors a perfect ten”.
‘The TEN Tenors with Orchestra’ performance in Bangkok is organised by Bangkok’s 15th International Festival of Dance and Music, 13 September - 14 October 2013. Tickets can be purchased via Thai Ticket Major Website, www.thaiticketmajor.com/ICP2013/06-the-ten-tenors.php?la=th
