Australian Governor-General conveys best wishes on His Majesty’s 88th birthday
On the occasion of His Majesty the King of Thailand’s 88th birthday, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia conveyed the warmest wishes of the Australian Government and people.
The Governor-General praised the deep friendship between Australia and Thailand and expressed his delight that the New Colombo Plan has seen education links flourish in 2015. He noted that bilateral ties are strong, and wrote “Reflecting their warm feelings of friendship for the Thai people, Australians have continued to visit Thailand in large numbers”.
“Please accept my best wishes for Your Majesty’s continued health and happiness, and for the continued well-being of the people of the Kingdom of Thailand. May I express my confidence that the friendly relations between our two countries will continue to prosper in the coming year”, the Governor-General wrote.
