Australian Minister for Industry and Science holds discussions in Thailand

28 July 2015

Australian Industry and Science Minister the Hon Ian Macfarlane MP today completed a two-day visit to Bangkok to build closer links with Thailand, particularly the business community.

Minister Macfarlane held discussions with Thailand’s Minister of Energy, HE Dr Narongchai Akrasanee.

With Thailand’s position as a major automotive and electronics producer, Minister Macfarlane discussed opportunities for Australian automotive supply chain manufacturers. He also met Thai investors in the Australian energy sector and discussed Australian resources exports.

Minister Macfarlane stressed Australia's strengths in innovation and advanced manufacturing.
