Press Release 2017 - Summer course

Exclusive 2017 summer courses in Australia
designed exclusively for Thai school students

3 January 2017

The Australian Trade and Investment Commission is proud to announce the second annual ‘Summer Courses in Australia’ program.  This unique program, tailored specifically for Thai school students between the ages of 10 to 18 years old, will enable participants to attend an Australian school for 3-4 weeks in March/April 2017.

‘Summer Courses in Australia 2017’ is a partnership between the Australian Trade and Investment Commission at the Australian Embassy in Bangkok, the Thai International Education Consultants Association (TIECA), Qantas Airways and SCB First.

The summer courses are being held during the Thai school break period in March/April 2017.  Students will be able to attend English language courses, as well as to participate in regular school classes with Australian students. Participants will also be able to experience the Australian lifestyle and culture through homestays and local excursions. All programs are especially designed for Thai students to enhance their English language proficiency and held in Australian locations ranked as one of the QS Top 50 Best Student Cities in the world.

The quality of Australian summer school programs is second to none. Teachers are highly qualified and have experience working with students whose first language is not English. Australian education institutions across six cities are participating in the program this year.

  1. Adelaide: South Australian Government schools
  2. Brisbane: Canterbury College
  3. Brisbane: Shafston International College
  4. Melbourne: Holmes Institute and Essendon Keilor College
  5. Perth: Phoenix Academy
  6. Perth: CELT, The University of Western Australia
  7. Sydney: International House
  8. Sydney: NSW Government schools
  9. Wollongong: The Illawarra Grammar School

Parents and students are invited to attend a presentation by the Australian Embassy’s Education team who will explain how the Summer Schools Program works in more detail.  The presentation is being held on Wednesday 25 January 2017, 14.00 – 16.00 hrs at the Australian Embassy, Bangkok (37 South Sathorn Rd).
