The Australian Embassy in Thailand is proud to present a return of the Australian short film festival ‘Flickerfest’ to Bangkok.
This year’s line up of Flickerfest shorts include a parody of a dating reality show where a modern-day 18th century couple live together; a retired Aussie superhero who tries to rejoin the workforce; and a young office worker who uncovers the flaws in his stop-motion universe. The films will have Thai subtitles and include:
- Wonder Down Under
- White Lies
- An Ostrich Told Me The World Is Fake & I Think I Believe It
- The Best Dumplings in Melbourne
- Somethings Not Quite Right
- The Moogai
- Married At First Fleet
- Bunker: The Last Fleet
Flickerfest is Australia’s leading competitive international short film festival that celebrates masterful, creative and impactful storytelling and the most original voices from filmmakers across the globe.
“For 33 years, Flickerfest has welcomed filmmakers from at home in Australia and around the world to celebrate their stories on the big screen,” Australian Ambassador to Thailand Dr Angela Macdonald PSM said.
“We’re delighted to bring these selected festival films to Bangkok for the third time to showcase Australian filmmaking talents with local audiences.”
The screening will run from 1800-2000hrs, Friday 15 March 2024, at Chulalongkorn Centenary Park. The event is open to the public and entry is free. Register now via bit.ly/AusFlickerfest
