Press Release 2026 - Australian exporters join THAIFEX-Anuga Asia 2026

Australian exporters join THAIFEX-Anuga Asia 2026

 27 May 2026

An Australian delegation of 48 food and beverage companies from five states, together with Meat and Livestock Australia and the Almond Board of Australia, are participating in THAIFEXAnuga Asia 2026 from 26–30 May at IMPACT Muang Thong Thani. They will showcase Australian premium exports, sustainable agriculture and advanced manufacturing capabilities. The event is the largest edition in Bangkok to date.

Australian Ambassador to Thailand Dr Angela Macdonald PSM, said the ThaiFEX-Anuga Asia was an excellent opportunity for Thais and Australians to explore new commercial avenues together.

“Australia offers a smorgasbord of quality produce and technical expertise. We have the most organic agricultural land in the world, and consumers can trust that Australian food has come from clean and green sources.”

The five Australian states represented are: New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, Western Australia and Victoria. Australia’s top food and agricultural exports to Thailand are beef, wheat and dairy products. Thailand is also the top destination for Australian mandarins, onions and Western Australian strawberries.

Austrade General Manager Southeast Asia, Ms Catherine Gallagher, said Australian exporters were excited to explore the potential in Thailand and broader region.

“Australian producers offer unparalleled safety standards, clean-label credentials and experience with supplying international markets. We’re hungry to match that with an appetite for long term supply chain partnerships, high-volume buyers and sustained production growth.”

Last night, Ambassador Macdonald hosted a ‘Great Australian Bite’ reception for over 200 guests to connect Thai buyers and distributors with senior Australian business and government representatives. Special guests included South Australian Minister for State Development Mr Chris Picton, Australian Almonds Ambassador and MasterChef Australia Judge Poh Ling Yeow, and Thai Chamber of Commerce and Board of Trade of Thailand Chairman Dr Poj Aramwattananont.

Guests sampled dishes featuring premium Australian lamb and flavours, prepared by acclaimed Thai TV personality and Chef Nalinthon ‘May’ Rattanasetdilok. The Almond Board of Australia also shared copies of CRUNCH, a cookbook developed in collaboration with Chef Poh, which has also just launched in Thailand.

The delegation will attend the Australian Business Lounge on 27 May, designed to facilitate practical business to business engagement between Australian food and agribusiness companies and buyers from Thailand and across Southeast Asia. The program combines short company pitches with structured networking and one on one meetings, enabling buyers to efficiently identify potential partners.
