Operations Manager / Deputy Manager
(based in Kanchanaburi Province, Thailand)
The Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) is inviting applications for Operations Manager / Deputy Manager, which is a full-time position classified at Level 5 (LE5). The position is based at the Hellfire Pass Interpretive Centre and Walking Trail which is located in Kanchanaburi Province, Thailand.
The Centre is located in Western Thailand, 240 km (three-hour drive) from Bangkok, and 75 kilometres from the nearest large town (Kanchanaburi).
The closing date for applications is 10 August 2026, 4.30pm (Bangkok time). A merit list will be drawn upon to fill any future vacancies. Merit lists are valid for 18 months from the date the position is advertised.

Selection Criteria
- Demonstrated experience leading and managing a team, including managing performance, developing staff, allocating resources and making sound decisions in a dynamic operational environment with competing priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex operational functions, including financial management, procurement, budgeting, administration and maintaining effective governance and compliance practices.
- Highly developed stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills, with experience liaising and representing an organisation with government agencies, local authorities, tourism or event organisations, service providers and the local business community at a senior level.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate and continuously improve operations, including identifying opportunities to improve service delivery, visitor experience, organisational performance and operational efficiency.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Thai, with the ability to prepare documentation, communicate effectively with diverse audiences and represent the Centre professionally.
- Strong computer literacy, including proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite and financial management/accounting systems (MYOB), with the ability to use technology to support operational and administration functions.

Employment will be subject to satisfactory medical and police/security checks. The actual start date will be confirmed following the outcome of the police checks, which will be carried out in Thailand, Australia, any country where the successful candidate is a citizen, and any country where the successful candidate has resided for six months or more in the past five years. Please note that costs for a police check in any country other than Thailand must be met by the successful candidate.
For prospective expatriate employees, please note that all costs associated with the employee’s relocation to and stay in Thailand is the employee’s responsibility. This includes visa fees and costs to travel to Thailand. The employee will also be responsible for organising their own residential accommodation during their period of stay.
The Embassy can provide limited assistance to the employee and immediate family members (spouse and children) requesting Thai visa(s) and permit to stay.
